HYALURONIC DIET FOR HEALTHIER SKIN

In a remote village in the mountains of Japan live the people of Yuzurihara. Here more than 10% of the population 85 or older. The village is a model of good health and wrinkle-free skin. Their secret? According to experts, a diet rich in foods that stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) promotes healthy skin, joints and eyesight. It has a symbiotic relationship with collagen that is at the heart of healthy and beautiful skin. The body produces HA in nearly every cell, especially the skin, both in the deeper dermal layers and at the epidermal surface layers.
One of the ways to help your skin produce more HA is by eating the right foods. Here’s what to bulk up on:

Starchy Root Vegetables
Starchy root vegetables and tubers like potatoes, taro, turmeric, are loaded with magnesium, which stimulates the body to produce HA, plus they provide a variety of other nutritional heroes like potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin A and vitamin C.

Soy
Soybeans are high in phytoestrogens, which enhance the production of hyaluronic acid in the body.

Bone Broth
Chicken combs and cartilage are the source of hyaluronic acid used in many supplements. If you want to get a similar boost In your diet, bone broth is one of the top recommendations.

Fruits
Because vitamin C is a huge contributor to the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, expanding your fruit intake can help plump your skin.
Fruits that contain magnesium—bananas, apples, avocados, tomatoes, melons, pineapples, pears, and peaches—will also help with HA synthesis.
Bananas are a bonus fruit as a source of magnesium, HA and vitamin C!  Eat them while still on the green side and full of resistant starch, which will help regulate blood sugar and keep glucose levels low.

The end of ANTI-aging

Calling out to all women over 40! It's time to stop dreading aging, and for the love of God,  it's time to stop using language like anti-aging.

These women are not beautiful for their age. They are just plain beautiful. Aging is not a condition we need to fight against. We need to appreciate ourselves, and our years and realize how BLESSED we are to continue to age. I'm the first to admit, I love good skin care and beautiful products. I will continue to enjoy these things. But I will be looking for products for myself and for my clients that  keep skin healthy and hydrated at every age.  I am officially ANTI anti-aging.

If you have the opportunity, grab the September issue of Allure magazine. Allure has made a resolution to stop using the term anti-aging.  "...it's not easy to change packaging and marketing overnight.", Michelle Lee, Editor in Chief of Allure magazine said perfectly. "But together we can start to change the conversation and celebrate beauty in all ages."

I just became an Allure magazine subscriber for life.

Posh Shopping

Tired of your closet of clothes, but short on extra cash for shopping? Me too! Sometimes I'll buy clothes I think I love, but after one or two wearings, I find they are not suited for my body type or my style preference. If you find this to be true for you as well, I have a brilliant solution for you.

Recently a friend has turned me on to the wonderful site of Poshmark.com. On this site you can sell your items that are in good condition, and purchase other second hand designer items for yourself. It's very simple to navigate the site after you download the app.

Snap a photo of the item you would like to sell. Be honest in the description, and try to take flattering photos. You can find a mannequin like in the one in the photo above on amazon.com for around $30. It really helps to show off your fashion.

Next you can either input the price you want for the item and/or have someone make you an offer. Poshmark has a flat rate for shipping, and after inputting your price, they will let you know what your profit will be after the cost of shipping.

After you've agreed on a price with another Posh shopper, Poshmark with e-amil you a shipping label. Send it to that shopper in a timely matter.

With the profits you make, you can have fun shopping for yourself. You can pick up designer fashions at a fraction of the cost. It's so easy and fun.

If you decide to partake, follow me at https://poshmark.com/closet/trishski.

Happy guilt free shopping!

Has it really been nearly 3 years since my last blog? Life has been so busy, but I have seriously missed sharing with you and I am so happy to be back in blog world. I'm still adjusting to being forty something. I'd better adjust quickly, because before you know it I'll be fifty! UGH.

Let's don't waste time. Today I want to share with you a beauty product/ tip I learned from my mother. The product is called BOOM!stick by Cindy Joseph.
As we age, many times women have a tendency to cake on more make up. Who do we think they are fooling? You can't cover up wrinkles with make up. More often times than not, we just look older with the make up setting into our lines. The idea behind these sticks is to combine very minimal make up with good skin care ingredients. The Boomstick Glo is a safe and effective moisturizer. The Boomstick Color provides a fresh, flushed look for your cheeks, forehead and chin line. The Boomstick Glimmer  highlights cheekbones, brows and body. Cindy Joseph is a beautiful, mature make up artist turned fashion model who has the right idea in keeping make up minimal with these products.

I must admit, I love all things make up. I was very nervous to give up wearing so much of it. I absolutely reserve the right to glam it up for a night out on the town. For everyday wear though, I have really enjoyed letting my healthy (even if older) skin shine through.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and please feel free to share your thoughts/ tips/ ideas on how you are aging gracefully.
